Meet the Owner

Hayley Jackson Hughston is a native of Vidalia, Georgia. She graduated with a Master’s of Education in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Valdosta State University in 2018. For six years, Hayley has worked as a pediatric private practitioner in the Toombs County area. During this time, she also had experience working in public education and acute care. Hayley founded Honey Speech Therapy Services LLC in the fall of 2023 and officially opened its doors on September 9, 2024. Honey Speech was opened with the aspirations of providing therapy to children in a way that maximizes support and impact. This includes 1-1 therapy sessions, establishing goals to best address the whole child (not just academics), encouraging parental involvement, and using evidence-based techniques.

Hayley has extensive experience working with children across the Autism spectrum. She supports children with a wide range of communication abilities—from those with social-pragmatic challenges to non-verbal individuals—and tailors her approach to meet each child’s unique needs. To better serve her non-verbal clients, Hayley has received specialized training in the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices, including LAMP (Language Acquisition through Motor Planning). Her commitment to supporting children with Autism extends beyond communication, as she has also completed college-level coursework in behavior analysis to deepen her understanding of behavior. Hayley also has a special interest in working with children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). She is PROMPT+ trained and incorporates a variety of evidence-based techniques to support motor planning and speech development. Another area close to Hayley’s heart is reading intervention. She is passionate about the connection between literacy and articulation, and she is actively expanding her expertise in reading-based interventions to support children with language-based learning differences, including dyslexia.
